Praying with Power

Two Steps Up – Three Steps In

 2Ch 7:11
Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD and the king’s house. All that Solomon had planned to do in the house of the LORD and in his own house he successfully accomplished.

 2Ch 7:12
Then the LORD appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.

 2Ch 7:13
When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people,

 2Ch 7:14
if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

 2Ch 7:15
Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.

 2Ch 7:16
For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

  Prayer and The Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.

 Acts 2:2
And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

 Acts 2:3
And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[fn]on each one of them.

 Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

 Acts 2:5
Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.

 Acts 2:6
And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.

 Acts 2:7
And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

 Acts 2:8
And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?

 Acts 2:9
Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

 Acts 2:10
Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,

 Acts 2:11
both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.”

 Acts 2:12
And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?

The Power of God's Love

1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

 1 John 4:8
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

 1 John 4:9
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

 1 John 4:10
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

 1 John 4:11
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

 1 John 4:12
No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

 1 John 4:13
By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

 1 John 4:14
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

 1 John 4:15
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

 1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

 1 John 4:17
By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.

 1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

 1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.

 1 John 4:20
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[fn] love God whom he has not seen.

 1 John 4:21
And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

                             Forgive and Forget

Mat 18:21
Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”

 Mat 18:22
Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.

 Mat 18:23
“Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.[fn]

 Mat 18:24
When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.[fn]

 Mat 18:25
And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made.

 Mat 18:26
So the servant[fn] fell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’

 Mat 18:27
And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt.

 Mat 18:28
But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii,[fn] and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’

 Mat 18:29
So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’

 Mat 18:30
He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt.

 Mat 18:31
When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place.

 Mat 18:32
Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me.

 Mat 18:33
And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’

 Mat 18:34
And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers,[fn] until he should pay all his debt.

 Mat 18:35
So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

Living and Giving That Produces Joy                                                           Voice Service

 Mat 25:14
¶“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants[fn] and entrusted to them his property.

 Mat 25:15
To one he gave five talents,[fn] to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.

 Mat 25:16
He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more.

 Mat 25:17
So also he who had the two talents made two talents more.

 Mat 25:18
But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.

 Mat 25:19
Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

 Mat 25:20
And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’

 Mat 25:21
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.[fn] You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

 Mat 25:22
And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’

 Mat 25:23
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

 Mat 25:24
He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed,

 Mat 25:25
so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’

 Mat 25:26
But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed?

 Mat 25:27
Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest.

 Mat 25:28
So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.

 Mat 25:29
For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

 Act 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

 Act 4:32
¶Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.

 Act 4:33
And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

 Act 4:34
There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold

 Act 4:35
and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.

 Act 4:36
Thus Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus,

 Act 4:37
sold a field that belonged to him and brought the mo
